Although it is only distantly related to space.Just got word that Curt Newport, the leader of the National Geographic expedition to find the The Argentine warship General Belgrano has suspended the search due to high winds and seas.
The General Belgrano, a former American cruiser sold to Argentina, was sunk in May of 1982 by British submarine during the Falkland Islands war.
The cruiser is belived to lying deep in the south Atlantic south of the islands.
Both the islands and the sinking are very controversal. The islands have been the subject of a territorial dispute since 1833. Argentina calls the sinking of the General Belgrano a war crime as it was outside the exclusion zone imposed by the British during the war. The British say it was a threat regardless of it's location.
Maybe it's time for Curt to start looking for those Saturn V 1st stages in the north Atlantic.
